Unlike many psychologists, Jung did not feel that experimenting using natural science was the best means to understand the human psyche. For him, an empirical investigation of the world of dream, myth and folklore represented the most promising road to its deeper understanding. As Jung said, "The beauty about the unconscious is that it is really unconscious". The unconscious is 'untouchable' by experimental researches—it is out of any possible kind of scientific or philosophic reach precisely because it is unconscious.

The shadow is an unconscious complex defined as the repressed, suppressed or disowned qualities of the conscious self. According to Jung, the human being deals with the reality of the shadow in four ways:

1.      denial,

2.      projection,

3.      integration and/or

4.      transmutation.

According to analytical psychology, a person's shadow may have both constructive and destructive aspects. In its more destructive aspects, the shadow can represent those things which people do not accept about themselves. For instance, the shadow of a kind person may be harsh or unkind. Conversely, the shadow of a brutal person may be gentle. In its more constructive aspects, a person's shadow may represent hidden positive qualities. This has been referred to as the "gold in the shadow". Jung emphasized the importance of being aware of shadow material and incorporating it into conscious awareness in order to avoid projecting shadow qualities on to others.

The shadow in dreams is often represented by dark figures of the same gender as the dreamer.

As individual attention is habitually and excessively focused on the façade of the persona (the outer personality), the deeper, neglected aspects of the personality continually sabotage the individual’s conscious intentions. In order to account for these frustrations, while also avoiding their true source, the shadow is conveniently projected onto other people, resulting in what can often be perceived as threatening and unfriendly circumstances. Whether the shadow manifests as a war protester who covertly bombs public buildingsor as a pro-life extremist who assassinates abortionists, it always represents the very qualities that the persona claims to lack.

The first sign of shadow projection appears as a strong emotional reaction to anyone or anything in the environment. The person’s actions feel visceral, impulsive and automatic, more like an unconscious reflex than a conscious, intentional response. The instinctive reflexes arising then project the source of the feeling outwardly onto some other person, thing or situation, often in the form of emotionally pungent criticism and blame. It is this very tendency which serves as the prime indicator that the shadow is in play. By becoming mindfully aware of the people to whom the persona is positively or negatively attracted, in addition to the outwardly focused perceptions which accompany such attraction, it is possible to recognize the shadow.

The cultivation of a compassionate yet intentional awareness is capable not only of detecting the presence of the shadow, but also of gently confronting and integrating it into the personality in a manner which develops a more deeply attuned sense of self with the world at large, with no inherent need to deny any aspects of the self and, therefore, no need to project any of these aspects outside of the experienced self.

Gold and diamonds are valuable because they’re rare. Soil is “dirt cheap” because it’s everywhere.

 

The same with you ladies: if you’re everywhere, with everyone, and not being selective in your boundaries, you’ll be seen as “dirt cheap”. And, who wants to work hard for something – like dirt or a girl – that’s cheap?

 

However, there are plenty of people who want to work hard for gold, diamonds and other rarities … like you! If you’re a rarity – you don’t lay yourself about, everywhere – there’s always valuable men who will crave you and your value.

 

You see, it’s not beggars who go for gold and diamonds; it’s wealthy folk. The more valuable something is, the more valuable will be its admirers. So, if you’re looking for an emotionally wealthy male, a Gamma Male, you’re going to be much more attractive if you raise your value. How you raise your value, in this sense, is by being selective in:

·         Who you associate with,

·         Who you date,

·         What you do,

·         How you treat your body,

·         How you treat your friends and family,

·         How you set your standards.

 

If you treat yourself, your friends and your family as precious gems, it will be easier to say “no” to dysfunctional behaviors and associates. Also, your friends and family will know how well you’re treating them and they’ll give you the same respect back … and so will a Gamma Male. The more respect and value you give to yourself and others, the more you’ll get back from the best of people.

 

Of course, this doesn’t mean you don’t have any fun. Far from it! You don’t have to be a virgin (God forbid!) but it’s important for Gamma Males to know you’re dating with both eyes open … not with both legs open! You’re not desperate or bored and you don’t act as if you are. You think about with whom and when you’ll have sex and you stand by these principles. Being selective is the opposite of desperation; if youcan pick and choose and take males or leave them you have already displayed thefollowing male-magnet features:

·         You are content with yourself and your life AS IT IS.

·         You bring people into your life based on how they can ENRICH it.

·         You care about yourself, your feelings, and your world.

·         You PROTECT your world by being picky about who you let in (translation - you will show the same discretion and judgment as his wife).

 

Ifa female is not selective,as one of the Gamma Males I interviewed said,“it will be a big party in there!” OK! So, you DONOT want any (and every) male saying that about you and your nether region, sodon't give them that opportunity.

 

A Gamma Male is happy to work hard to get your affection – it brings out the best in him, because he sees the best in you. So the choice is, girl – are you a diamond or a mud ball?
